Two Different Ways to Change the Default Location of OST<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Method 1<\/strong>: Use Registry Trick<\/p>\n

In this method, users can able to change the OST location regardless of the Outlook version including Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016. These versions use a different location to save OST.<\/p>\n

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Office\\15.0\\Outlook<\/p>\n

    For Outlook 2010, the key is<\/p>\n

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Office\\14.0\\Outlook<\/p>\n

    1. After that right click in an empty area from the right side of the\u00a0Registry Editor Window<\/strong>. Select\u00a0New<\/strong>\u00a0and then select Expandable String Value<\/li>\n
    2. A new value will be created. In the\u00a0Edit String<\/strong>\u00a0box, assign the name\u00a0ForceOSTPath\u00a0<\/strong>to the value and provide the new default location. Click on\u00a0Ok<\/strong><\/li>\n
    3. After that close\u00a0Registry Editor\u00a0<\/strong>and restart Outlook<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      4. In the Advanced button, select\u00a0Outlook Data File Settings\u00a0<\/strong>and press\u00a0Default Offline Use.\u00a0<\/strong>Press\u00a0Yes<\/strong>\\<\/li>\n
      5. Select\u00a0Outlook Data File Settings\u00a0<\/strong>and enable the option\u00a0\u201cI want to move the old file\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Note:\u00a0<\/strong>If the\u00a0Disable Offline Use\u00a0<\/strong>option is not exist, go to the step 3 and uncheck the\u00a0Use Cached Exchange Mode<\/strong><\/p>\n

        1. Now choose \u201cBrowse\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0tab, after that select the targeted OST file that you wish to export into a new folder and then press\u00a0Open<\/strong><\/li>\n
        2. In\u00a0Advance section\u00a0<\/strong>of MS Exchange account, select\u00a0Cached Exchange Mode\u00a0<\/strong>and then press\u00a0Ok,\u00a0<\/strong>press Ok tab again when it will prompt restart Outlook<\/li>\n
        3. Close Mail Setup and Account Settings boxes<\/li>\n
        4. In the Mail Dialogue box, press\u00a0Ok<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Note<\/strong>: During creating of a new OST file, the previous OST file is not removed automatically, you can remove it manually.<\/p>\n
